SUNDAY UPDATE: I’VE FRICKIN’ HAD IT WITH NADEX

“Time to burn the building down!”

I’ve made the decision to stop the signals subscription service to subscribers
for WTI Crude Oil, effective immediately, for 2 very big reasons; 1) the
problems with NADEX are insurmountable on so many levels and they will
not entertain any constructive criticism and make changes, and 2) given #1,
unless you want to be a professional coin flipper, there’s no consistent way to
make money in their call spreads based on volatility. Directly below, the last
2 months daily candlestick chart of WTI Crude Oil, with commentary.

As you can see, only 19% of days is volatility good enough to make money
… the rest losers … and most of the winners aren’t nearly as big as the
premium meltdown you’ll experience, so your losses will be much bigger
than your overall gains. And if you’re thinkin’ the solution is then to be
short, that means you’re constantly short gamma, and on the days it blows
out of the box, your losses are going to be huge, and most likely catastrophic
… in short, account killers.

NADEX has a lot to do with this, and every other market they host, being
nothing more than a gigantic slot machine … put $10 in, get $7 back. In
addition, their sole liquidity provider [IG Group, their parent] refuses to
make adequate volatility adjustments when oil gets slow … oh sure, when oil
goes nuts, they’ll be the first ones to ramp call spread premiums higher the
next day, and most likely the entire week … they’re pathetic in adjusting
them lower, simply cuz they don’t have to when there’s no competition. Add
in idiot bid/offer spreads with high round turn commissions, and sure, for
the house it’s a great deal … for customers, it’s a ripoff. These last 6 - 7
months have been a real eye opener for me, as I’ve watched volatility across
the board go from total insane, and then crash within 10 - 14 weeks in almost
every market, but none more so than crude oil … and the premiums during
that time? … sure they went down some, but not nearly as much as the level
of volatility. In essence, this is like buying a chocolate bar, and while the price
stays the same, the size of the bar keeps shrinking.

So, no more signals, no more NADEX … I’m going to keep the site though,
and furnish content on the crude oil market from day to day … maybe at
some point I’ll have specific futures commentary, and if you want you can
trade CFD’s in oil, but be advised almost all of the CFD’s out there on crude,
are a complete rip off, including Turnkey’s pathetic CFD, where the spread
can be anywhere from 3 cents to 7 cents at any moment, and slippage will
definitely piss you off, no doubt … the e-mini from the corrupt CME trades
500 barrel contracts with a 2 ½ cent spread, and I’m not sure what ICE trades
in Brent … check it out if you’re interested.

So, some new content coming with a slightly new look … helpful hints, some
trading tools, and of course commentary you ain’t gonna get anywhere else
on the net … looking forward to it!

Have a great rest of your weekend everybody!

CRUDE IS PARALYZED IN POLITICS

“Another oil trader trying to understand the politics of oil!”

Well, wasn’t today special? … last night’s opening call spread premium levels
in WTI Crude Oil at NADEX came in at around 90 - 92 cents … and you
know, with 5 cent bid/offer spreads on each side not including commissions,
that’s only 12 cents to trade oil … wait, wut? … yes, a real beauty of a market,
huh?

With support at 61 and resistance above 62.50, and the market trading right
at 62, you’re gonna need to see the market above 63 or below 61 to make a
dime … sorry, given today’s political news with China, I don’t think so. And
in fact, that’s what happened, with crude settling right around 61.70 at
expiration.

Maybe tonight NADEX can get their act together, but don’t count on it. We’ll
see what happens at the open. Until tomorrow mi amigos
… Onward & Upward!!

Have a great day everybody!

GETTING CRUDE TO BEHAVE

“Goofy Stuff = NADEX crude oil call spreads!”

There just isn’t anything to do when 1) NADEX won’t give adequate call
spreads at the open in relation to floors & ceilings, 2) practically every night
the opening prices are at least 50+ cents away from said floors & ceilings
leading to high call spread prices, and 3) even in the morning after a move
overnight the premiums are too high, and the market simply has to move
farther than is justified for us to make any money.

Today sees a move, where maybe if we acted quickly we could have made
money from about a 65 cent premium, but it was there and disappeared
quickly … in other words, like all other markets on the board, no follow
through and no trend that lasts. And this equals losses.

Lately, just a piss poor market environment with high premiums relative to
its 20 Day Range MA. More tomorrow, as NADEX frustrates me to no end.
Until tomorrow mi amigos … Onward & Upward!!

Have a great day everybody!

CRUDE FOLLOWING STOCKS … KINDA

“The water cooler at the oil traders office!”

Today’s crude oil setup all messed up for the NADEX call spreads … way out
of line last night at the open, and after putting in an above average range
overnight, premiums on the new call spreads around 8 AM EST, provided no
comfort as premiums were too high … just to much ground to cover to make
any money for the risk … around 8 AM EST, the 61.50 floor & ceiling costing
about 60 cents for a volatility position … maybe at the low you might have
been up a few cents … dunno … but in any event it wasn’t much if anything
… now with the market climbing back and closing near expiration right at
61.50, you’d be lucky to get 5 cents for the both of them … like I said, too
much premium to cover for the range already put in last night.

Maybe if it’s not too much trouble for the knuckleheads at NADEX to give us
call spreads that aren’t deep in or out of the money, that might be nice … I
won’t hold my breath for any relief anytime soon … I’ve talked to them about
this problem, and they don’t even want to listen to what I’m saying … in other
words, they’re just like Turnkey.

So, we’ll see what the open brings tonight … tomorrow sees crude oil
inventories, so if premiums are reasonable and NADEX doesn’t blow it,
conditions for a trade tonight should be good. We’ll see. Until tomorrow mi
amigos … Onward & Upward!!

Have a great day everybody!

FOR A SECOND THERE

“There was a time this A.M., when everything looked dead & hopeless!”

On the one hand, it would have been nice to capture something today … on
the other, it looked early like markets would never move again. Finally, the
USD catches a strong bid and SHTF … I’ll take that as good news and move
on from there.

Last night greatly pissed me off to no end, as the NADEX market maker in
GBPJPY had 4 PIP bid/offer spreads on each side of the call spreads … throw
in 1 PIP on each for RT commissions, and it’s a cost of doing business of
10 PIPS to get into a position … seriously, what the hell is wrong with you
guys, expecting anybody in their right mind to pay that? Does anybody pay a
10 PIP spread to trade GBPJPY at any offshore brokerage house? … well, if
they do, they’re stone cold nuts!

Not much better in Cable, which came in at 6, to get into a position … sure,
hindsight is great after the day is over and you’ve seen the small moves
… does anybody pay 6 PIPS to trade Cable?

Meanwhile, oil plugs along with another sub $1 range, as the 20 Day Range
MA just goes lower and lower every week … they’ve brought down the
premiums some, but not enough … we simply need to see a rise in the range
MA to become interested again in oil, otherwise it’s a losing proposition.

Hopefully tonight is a different story with bid/offer spreads … until tomorrow
mi amigos … Onward & Upward!!

Have a great day everybody!

MARKETS ARE QUIET CUZ NOBODY HAS A CLUE

“Motivation … markets could use some!”

What with the POLS in Britain on the sidelines until Easter is over, and next
week sees Japan on Holiday for the week for “Golden Week”, it’s pretty much
a complete snoozefest for the foreseeable future. “We need some volatility
… we ain’t gettin’ any volatility … and in that kind of environment, the call
spreads premiums will eat you up if you decide to trade them”.

Premiums at the open last night were moderately over priced, no surprise
here, as they often are, but with zero volatility, it’s a one way ticket to
premium evaporation in price as the minutes and hours tick by … what you
might gain on one side, you lose more on the other … and back & forth it
goes, with the turns in price causing the worst price erosion in the call
spreads. You just can’t win without some kind of volatility.

WTI crude oil for its part, dead in the water just drifting along. Nothing to
see here until the 20 Day Range MA starts to recover, and so far we haven’t
seen that at all … for the last 3 weeks, stuck at $1.22 per barrel … just as a
reminder, it was at the first week in January when it peaked at $2.60 per
barrel … that’s a greater than 50% loss of volatility in only 12 weeks
… amazing to watch the manipulators take away the punch bowl isn’t it?

So, what are you supposed to do here? … I feel like the 2 Bobs in
“Office Space”, asking the question to employees to keep their jobs … and
I’m putting the question to the markets, but they don’t seem to care. In the
meantime, nobody really has a clue what’s going on or where we go next
… nobody.

Until tomorrow mi amigos … Onward & Upward!!

Have a great day everybody!

WELCOME TO TUESDAY’S MUD

“Oh, it’s deep all right!”

Today’s ranges in FX could have been worse, had it not been for the well
placed horseshit headline from the BBC about Merkel supporting some Irish
backstop gizmo she’s never supported … it was quickly shot down by Berlin,
but the 30 PIP damage to the upside in Cable cemented the top for the day,
and it’s been all downhill ever since … but hey, on the bright side some 20
something gets to go to a Benz dealership and pick out a shiny red one,
courtesy of another mistress fund escapade.

Other than that, complete horseshit trading conditions across the board,
except for a brief rally in gold, as the scumbag dealers there roll the rock
back up the hill to shitcan it later at their convenience of course. WTI crude
oil sees another pathetic day of trading under its 20 Day Range MA, while
finding a way to move higher consistently on overnight vapor ramps … can
somebody say Saudi manipulation?

The call spread premiums last night surprised, coming in “cheap”, but the
kicker is that today offers little movement expected within NADEX call
spread hours, before they expire … so, a little deceiving here, and sure enough
all we’ve seen most of the day is short term stop hunts from the scumbag LP
bank crowd in Cable as well as everything else … GBPJPY call spreads would
have made money, GBPUSD call spreads either lost money or came close to
scratching, and EURJPY a clear loser.

Here in mid afternoon New York, Cable trying to press lower, but facing very
tough sledding into the 1.30300 area … as I said over on Traderzoogold, this is
week 4, inside a weekly candle, with support at 1.2960 area and topside
resistance at 1.33810 … until one side or the other is taken out, Cable looks to
be a bucket of shit, from a trading perspective. I would expect an eventual
breach to have some legs.

Well, won’t tomorrow be interesting … we await tonight’s open … until
tomorrow mi amigos … Onward & Upward!!

Have a great day everybody!
